We are thrilled to announce the first annual Pedals for Progress Bike-a-Thon, hosted by the Santa Monica Black Empowerment Association (SMBEA) in celebration of Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024.

This year’s Bike-a-Thon will feature two special rides:

  • 10 AM Ride: Focused on promoting sustainability, clean air, and home electrification.

  • 12 PM Ride: Dedicated to mental health and wellness.

Participants are encouraged to ride for their chosen cause and sign up for free by clicking this link.

Event Highlights:

  • Starting Point: Virginia Avenue Park, Pico Blvd, Santa Monica

  • Ending Point: 520 Arizona Avenue, Santa Monica

  • Time: Rides will depart at 10 AM and 12 PM, with a tour of Black landmarks in Santa Monica. The event concludes with a resource fair at our office.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for community members and organizations to demonstrate their commitment to crucial issues while engaging with a diverse audience. Your participation will support the SMBEA’s mission to empower and advocate for the Black and Brown community in Santa Monica.
